Takeaways from our conversation:
Get the PE license. Like Thomas Anderson, Anthony Fasano is a big proponent of engineers getting their PE license. Because of career flux, it’s beneficial to have the license in the event that you end up in an industry that values it.
Soft skills are key. Anthony noticed that the most successful engineers had skills beyond the technical ones. His career took off fast once he built his soft skills (e.g., public speaking, networking, etc.).
Slow down. Anthony noticed that when he got nervous, he’d speak faster, making it more difficult for the audience to understand. He’s always mindful to slow down his speech so it’ easier for people to take in the message.
